Forging Links for Health Research: Perspectives from the Council on Health Research for Development by Victor R. Neufeld,

As part of the lead up to the International Conference on Health Research for Development ( held in Bangkok in October 2000), the Council on Health Research for Development (COHRED) has called upon its associates around the world to reflect on achievements international public health and setbacks in the 1990s. This book is the result of those reflections. Public Health at the Crossroads: Achievements and Prospects

This book is an introduction to public health as a discipline international public health and a critique of its recent development. Identifying poverty as the greatest continuing threat to health worldwide, the authors, both of them prominent public health authorities, review epidemiological, demographic international public health and public health trends internationally, international public health and argue that the prospects for public health will improve only if health in a broad sense becomes a central concern of the policy-making process.
